AIDS 2008, Mexico City August 3 - 8

The XVII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2008), held 3 – 8 August 2008 in Mexico City, was an opportunity for HIV professionals and individuals working in related fields to explore the latest scientific research, best practices and programmatic experience in the global response to AIDS.

AIDS 2008 attracted 20,306 delegates and when staff, other organizers, volunteers, exhibitors and accompanying persons are added to this figure, about 25,000 people participated in the conference.

Webges was assigned to support the conference with its mobile and easy to handle access control system cLock. More than 45 units were used at every entrance of the conference to scan the visitors' badges. The devices were connected wireless and live to the registration server to ensure only registered delegates were allowed to enter.

As every delegate had to be scanned at every entrance this collected data also provided the basis for the certificates of attendance. These could easily be printed at self check print stations.

Webges' own well established lead retrieval system cLead was used at the industry exhibition of the conference. The exhibitors loved the easy to operate handheld units and the wireless download function. The collected leads could be viewed and downloaded on every internet connected computer within seconds.
